Once I am totally convinced that I have run out of writing material - or, more often, too overloaded with writing material to write anything - some of it comes back. Today, it was a funny comment made by my husband Curtis.
Curtis knows that I have been having nervous breakdowns because I recently learned that Elan's daycare, which we LOVE, plans on transitioning her from the baby/toddler program to the actual preschool program in May, when she is 2 years 2 months. In the preschool program the student:teacher ratios go way up, and I worry about safety, and attention, and development, and all those other things that parents worry about. So I have been soliciting feedback from other parents at the school, asking about the ratio and what they think.
One fellow parent sent a very thoughtful helpful response. I asked Curtis to read it, and asked him what he thought. He said that he doesn't know.
"What do you mean you don't know?" I asked.
"I don't know what you want me to think about it!" he explained.
"I want you to think what you think, not what you think I want you to think," I implored.
But I see his point. What do we really know anyway? This parenting thing is HARD.

Maybe Andrew will help me finally figure out how to take advantage of all of the wonderful features of Moveable Type! Especially since I think it is pretty much the coolest startup in the world.
