ok... so maybe i'm an insensitive bastard... but the whole columbian space ship situation doesn't really bother me. understatement... death and carnage always bother me to some degree... but this certainly doesn't come as a surprise. it's been some years since anything whackie has happened down at nasa... and those guys are dealing with some pretty complicated machinary. machines fail. this is a known fact. personally... i think they're long over due... however harsh that may seem.

what's even worse is the media's approach to this whole thing. for some reason, they've been making a big deal out of how they're not going to stop space exploration and blah, blah, blah. hm. big surprise. why would they? we didn't stop tickin' when cousin ricardo died last fall... eventhough we didn't really know him very well. what's the difference?

so some "important" people died. not a first... and what makes one person more important than the next anyway? it's as if they think the "american people" are going to wither away if anything terrible ever happens. i think not. the american people thrive on bad news and the complaint of the day. don't we all love drama?
