The Fate Update

It seems the Fate the Snake has been looking kindly upon John Wesley Daniel for a long time now. Thanks to the efforts of Marti Daniel, the contributions of Rod Daniel, and the medical expertise of Dr. Preston Mansfield, a healthy baby boy was delivered on December 13, 1970 at 9:38am at Northside Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. John was named for his Uncle John, and later found out that his Great-Great-Great Grandfather was also named John Wesley.

The baby was an active one, with many friends who were very helpful. Sam Snake and Percy the American Flying Beetle in particular proved indispensible on a car trip from Florida, guiding the Daniel family back home from the hood of the vehicle. Three other friends in Chicago were the hermit crab triplets: Bobcat, Swirls, and Brownie. That Bobcat was a shifty one, and also very althletic. He was missing for the longest time until he was discovered one day performing a trapeeze act on the electrical cord behind the dresser.

The Daniel baby was an intelligent child indeed. He began to speak in foreign tongues at the age of two years. To follow are a few words from his family's home planet, and their English translations:

He continues speaking in tongues even to this day.

As he grew, the Daniel boy gained a brother, Lucas. They would play with action figures and make up stories and role-playing games and were the best of friends. They watched thunder storms together on the lake in Michigan, got into brotherly fights, and learned from each other. Today Lucas is a student at UC Berkeley, and sees John often.

The boy loved to read and do art projects. His sporting life consisted of a brief stint at tee-ball, but he had more fun looking for back to basics
