Sleep in??? Never!
Saturday morning cartoons have become somewhat of a tradition at twin.peaks. There's nothing like a good bowl of sugar cereal and a bunch of half-hour toy commercials to get your weekend going.
The subject of cereal can never be taken too lightly, as cereal is actually a deadly serious subject.
Cartoons are viewed no matter what. Guests or no guests. Late Friday night or no...well, maybe not if there was a particularly late Friday night...but that is the ONLY event that can thwart Saturday morning cartoon viewing!
A few cartoons in particular have earned high marks as favorites at twin.peaks. These are:
- The Tick, about the proverbial superhero who takes his job very seriously. He and his cohorts never take off their superhero suits, and the conflicts are based on themes that run far back into human history...such as who gets to have which superhero name.
- The X-Men, rather silly and stereotypical as cartoons go, but heck, it's a classic.
- Earthworm Jim, a very Tick-esque character based on a Sega video game. Suprisingly enough, it made the transition to television quite well. Often heard ringing through the halls of twin.peaks is the phrase taken from the show: "Morning, neighbor!" "Morning, hideous freak of nature!"
Various other shows may be viewed, depending on their content, which basically means whether or not insects are the primary subject matter. "Life With Louie" was once viewed as far as the theme song, but we're trying to forget about that.
